Frances Vaughan - Transpersonal Techniques in Groups

Dr. Vaughan is an author, educator and psychologist in Marin County, CA. She is the author and co-author of several books integrating psychology and spiritual growth such as "Shadows of the Sacred". She has been a pioneer in the field of transpersonal psychology, and has studied several spiritual traditions. She was a founding faculty member of the Institute of Transpersonal psychology. She later joined the clinical faculty at the University of California Medical School at Irvine. She has served as President of the Association for Transpersonal Psychology and the Association for Humanistic Psychology, she is a founding faculty member of the Metta Institute and is currently a trustee of the Fetzer Institute.

The title of today’s talk is “Transpersonal Techniques in Groups,” where Frances Vaughan presents a series of experiential exercises that can be used in group psychotherapy. This lecture was delivered in 1977 at the ATP Conference. We apologize for the low quality of this archival recording. It is presented here as part of our ongoing series on transpersonal psychology in clinical practice.
